Whirly ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Whirly mobile application (the "App"), a random video chat platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account data: name, email address, age, gender, country, and profile photo provided during registration.
• Call & chat data: real-time audio and video transmitted during calls (not recorded or stored on our servers); text chat messages exchanged during and outside of calls, which are stored in Firebase.
• Call history: metadata such as call timestamps, duration, and the identifiers of participants.
• Device & technical data: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push token used to deliver notifications.
• Location data: approximate geographic location derived from your profile or IP address, displayed to other users via Google Maps to show caller regions.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you via Firebase Authentication.
• Match you with other users for random video calls.
• Display approximate caller locations on the in-app map powered by Google Maps.
• Deliver push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Store and sync chat messages using Firebase Realtime Database / Firestore.
• Process in-app subscription purchases through Google Play Billing.
• Enforce our Terms of Use, including the report and block system.
• Improve the App, troubleshoot issues, and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. Video & Audio Calls

Live video and audio streams are transmitted peer-to-peer or through our relay servers solely to connect the call in real time. We do not record, store, or retain any video or audio content from calls. Once a call ends, the stream is permanently discarded.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database / Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging) – firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google Maps Platform – policies.google.com/privacy
• Google Play Billing – manages in-app subscription purchases; payment details are handled entirely by Google and are never seen or stored by us.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages are retained for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted. Call metadata is retained for up to 6 months. Device and technical data are retained for 90 days. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Children's Privacy

Whirly is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. Users aged 17 may register only with verified parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. 7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: request erasure of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Restriction & Objection: restrict or object to certain processing activities.
• Opt-out of sale (CCPA): we do not sell your personal information.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit and access controls on Firebase resources. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Report & Block System

When you report or block another user, limited information about that interaction (user identifiers, reason code, and timestamp) is retained for safety and enforcement purposes for up to 24 months.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
